چکیده

Objective To investigate the evidence of measurement properties isokinetic dynamometry (ID) for assessment shoulder muscle strength in healthy individuals and patients with nonneurologic pathology. Data Sources Cochrane Central Register Controlled Trials, PubMed, EMBASE, Physiotherapy Evidence Database were searched up to February 2020 without restrictions. Reference lists citations hand-searched. Study Selection Two review authors independently included studies that met following criteria: (1) evaluated ID when used on glenohumeral joint (2) 18 years older. Studies including neurologic, neuromuscular, or systemic diseases critical illness excluded. Extraction The quality data synthesis performed according COnsensus-based Standards selection health Measurement INstruments methodology. Synthesis Twenty-one a total 597 participants included. results combined separately isometric, concentric, eccentric test mode; velocities 30°/s-60°/s, 90°/s, 120°/s, 240°/s; seated, supine, standing position; internal rotation (IR), external (ER), ER/IR ratio. reliability was overall sufficient majority intraclass correlation coefficients ?0.70. moderate low 20 30 strata examined. error rated as insufficient all strata. SEM ranged from 4%-28%. varied depending Conclusions positions, velocities, modes strength. not sufficient. Because most seated position, 30°/s-60°/s concentric mode, highest these conditions.

Reliability of isokinetic assessment of shoulder-rotator strength: a systematic review of the effect of position.

CONTEXT Isokinetic assessment of shoulder internal-(IR) and external-rotator (ER) strength is commonly used with many different postures (sitting, standing, or supine) and shoulder positions (frontal or scapular plane with 45° or 90° of abduction). OBJECTIVE To conduct a systematic review to determine the influence of position on the intersession reliability of the assessment of IR and ER iso...

Isokinetic Dynamometry and 1RM Tests Produce Conflicting Results for Assessing Alterations in Muscle Strength

The purpose of this study was to compare strength gains in the lower limbs, assessed by one maximum repetition (1RM) and isokinetic peak torque (PT), in young men undergoing a resistance training (RT) program. Twenty-seven young men performed resistance training twice a week for 11 weeks. Training involved two exercises for the lower body, two for the upper body and one for the midsection perfo...
